Born and raised in the Baltimore area, Katie Wilkens joined the Aluma community in 2019. She found yoga as a means of managing stress and regaining strength postpartum. Working from home with 2 young daughters, coming to the studio allowed her to find a place in a new community and grow her practice.
She just recently completed the Aluma RYT 200 program and hopes to one day become certified in pre and postnatal yoga. She embarked on the teacher training journey in the hopes of creating a fun and welcoming space for others, while also working to deepen her personal practice. She also hopes to help other new moms find the same sense of community and strength through yoga.
Outside of the studio you can find her spending time outside or in the kitchen with her husband, 2 little girls and their animals. She loves her friends, reading, and looks forward to cultivating playlists for her classes that incorporate her love for music.
