During our in-person sessions, you will:

  • Cultivate your Voice, both as a teacher and as an individual.
  • Build Confidence through practice teaching.

  • Be introduced to the Yoga Sutras.
  • Understand the practices of Pranayama, Mantra, Mudra & Meditation.

Through self-study, you will:


  • Absorb and interpret required readings.
  • Journal your reflections.
  • Complete take home quizzes and tests.
  • Prepare for Practice Teaching.


Upon graduation, you will:


  • Be able to confidently teach a 60 minute vinyasa yoga class.
  • Be eligible for certification with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.
  • Be trained in the exclusive Aluma Method.


Benefits

During Teacher Training all students receive:
  • A Teacher Trainee Membership at no cost. This membership includes unlimited in-studio classes, unlimited livestream and on-demand access and can be used for the Additional Practice Time (see Graduation Requirements).
Upon graduation, all Teacher Training Graduates receive:
  • A Free 3 Month Unlimited Membership (valued at $387) to Aluma Yoga.
  • An opportunity to interview and demo for a Teaching Position at Aluma Yoga.

Graduation Requirements

  • Training will culminate with a final written exam and students will present a 60 minute class to the group which demonstrates your competency.
  • Three observations of classes taught by different teachers are expected to be completed prior to the end of training.
  • 100% attendance; You are required to make up missed time at the rate of $125 per hour. It is your responsibility to arrange make up time and to gather missed materials. Prior notice of missed class must be provided. You are not eligible to graduate from our program or register as an RYT 200 if you have not completed all required hours of training.
  • Additional Practice Time
    • During weeks (measured Sunday thru Saturday) where we meet two or more times, you are required to attend 1 additional class at Aluma outside of training.
    • During weeks (measured Sunday thru Saturday) where we meet once, you are required to attend 2 additional classes at Aluma outside of training.
    • During weeks we do not meet at all, you are required to practice 3 additional times whether that be at Aluma, on your own for a home practice, or utilizing Aluma livestream or on-demand.

    A log will be provided for you to keep track of your classes.
  • Satisfactory completion of take home assignments and quizzes.
  • Complete co-teaching, practice teaching, and supervised teaching experiences as assigned.

Jeannie Eshleman

Jeannie Eshleman

Jeannie began practicing Vinyasa yoga in 2004 and quickly fell in love with the vibrant flow of movement and its connection to the breath. She received her 200-hour yoga training at Charm City Yoga in 2007 and has been teaching ever since. Jeannie uses her experience as both a yoga instructor and a physical therapy assistant to create a fun and energetic yoga practice for her group and private classes that emphasizes breathwork, alignment and core strengthening. She feels passionate about sharing how yoga promotes a healthy body and peaceful mind while specializing in teaching students how to safely adapt and modify the practice for their specific needs.

Jeannie lives in Baltimore with her husband, daughter and son where they spend their free time exploring local nature trails, hanging out at the neighborhood pool or enjoying family movie nights.

Melody Kleeman

Melody Kleeman

Melody Kleeman, founder of Aluma Yoga, is passionate about supporting others to heal, transform, and connect through her teaching of yoga, coaching programs, and hosting both local and international retreats. Her classes and programs take you on a reflective journey that allow for healing, self-discovery, and joy to surface. She encourages students to ask, reflect, create and respect their mind-body-soul through their practice and self-discovery. As a former ballet student, her sequencing is smart and integrated with a heavy influence of graceful lines and rhythmic movements.

After leaving her career in 2012 as a special education teacher to study yoga in Costa Rica, Melody became certified as an instructor at the 200 hour level and began teaching full-time. She has since earned her E-RYT 500 and has extensive experience with private and corporate instruction, teacher training, advanced instructor coaching, leading workshops and international yoga retreats. She lives in Cockeysville with her husband Brian, Bella the Boston, Angel the Pitbull and extended family.

The Fine Print

Deposits and Payments
All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE except as outlined below.
Cancellations
Cancellation of your reservation prior to September 1, 2025 will result in a credit to your Aluma account of any amounts paid (minus the $500 non-refundable deposit) which may be used for future purchases. No credits will be issued after this date except as described below.
Non-Completion Due to Injury
If you are unable to complete training for any reason except injury, there is no refund. If you sustain an injury that does not allow you to fully participate physically, you will not be permitted to continue training. A credit will be issued on your Aluma account for the full amount paid minus the $500 non-refundable deposit, to use toward future purchases (except travel/retreats). If you apply this toward the next teacher training, your original training price will be honored.
Materials
Aluma Yoga YTT Training Manual is included. Books are an additional fee and are available on Amazon. Our book list will be emailed upon acceptance to the program.

Training is led by Jeannie Eshleman and Melody Kleeman. Guest teachers may be announced.
