Through self-study, you will:


  • Complete required readings.
  • Journal and reflect.
  • Complete take home quizzes and assessments.
  • Prepare for Practice Teaching.


Upon graduation, you will:


  • Teach a confident and well structured 60 minute vinyasa yoga class.
  • Be eligible for to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200.
  • Be trained in the Aluma Method.


Additional Benefits

During Teacher Training all students receive:
  • A Teacher Trainee Membership at no additional cost (values at $550), including unlimited in-studio classes and unlimited livestream and on-demand access and all other membership perks. This membership may be used to fulfill additional practice requirements and practice at your leisure.
Upon graduation, all Teacher Training Graduates receive:
  • A Complimentary 3 Month Unlimited Membership to Aluma Yoga (valued at $387).
  • Access to the Aluma Teaching Residency at no additional cost, providing post-graduation mentorship and supervised teaching experience.
  • An opportunity to interview and demo for a Teaching Position at Aluma Yoga.

Graduation Requirements

  • Training culminates with a final written exam and presentation of a 60 minute class demonstrating competency.
  • 100% attendance is required; Missed time must be made up at the rate of $150 per hour. In some cases makeup work may be assigned.
  • Students are responsible for arrangeing makeup time and obtaining missed materials.
  • Graduation and RYT 200 eligibility require completion of all training hours.
  • Three class observations of different instructors must be completed prior to graduation.
  • Satisfactory completion of take home assignments and quizzes is required.
  • Completion of co-teaching, practice teaching, and supervised teaching experiences as assigned.

  • Additional Practice Time
    • During weeks (measured Sunday thru Saturday) where we meet three times, no additional classes are required outside of training.
    • During weeks (measured Sunday thru Saturday) where we meet two times, you are required to attend 1 additional class at Aluma outside of training.
    • During weeks (measured Sunday thru Saturday) where we meet once, you are required to attend 2 additional classes at Aluma outside of training.

    A log will be provided for you to keep track of your classes.

Jeannie Eshleman

Jeannie Eshleman

Jeannie began practicing Vinyasa yoga in 2004 and quickly fell in love with the vibrant flow of movement and its connection to the breath. She received her 200-hour yoga training at Charm City Yoga in 2007 and has been teaching ever since. Jeannie uses her experience as both a yoga instructor and a physical therapy assistant to create a fun and energetic yoga practice for her group and private classes that emphasizes breathwork, alignment and core strengthening. She feels passionate about sharing how yoga promotes a healthy body and peaceful mind while specializing in teaching students how to safely adapt and modify the practice for their specific needs.Jeannie lives in Baltimore with her husband, daughter and son where they spend their free time exploring local nature trails, hanging out at the neighborhood pool or enjoying family movie nights.

Jackie Hershfeld

Jackie Hershfeld

Jaclyn Leo is a Certified Health Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with a passion for supporting people to create lives they love. She started practicing yoga over 15 years ago, experimenting with various styles, until finding Aluma in 2018.She received her BFA, with a focus in General Fine Art and Museum Education, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, worked at the Walters Art Museum and American Visionary Art Museum prior to beginning her family, and launching her coaching practice.Jackie lives in Parkton, Maryland with her husband and three boys. In her free time, you can find Jackie working with clay, taking care of her chickens, reading, and deepening her yoga practice.

Melody Kleeman

Melody Kleeman

Melody Kleeman is the founder of Aluma Yoga. She is devoted to creating spaces that support healing, transformation, and authentic connection through yoga, Pilates, other forms of movement, and travel.Her classes are reflective, progressive, and intentionally sequenced. Students are invited to explore self-inquiry and build a relationship with their mind, body, and soul that extends beyond the mat. With a background in dance, her teaching carries a distinct signature: precise, thoughtfully composed sequencing shaped by graceful lines and rhythmic movement.In 2012, Melody left her career as a special education teacher to study yoga in Costa Rica. After earning her 200-hour certification, she began teaching full-time and has since completed her E-RYT 500. Her work now spans private and corporate instruction, teacher training, advanced mentorship, workshops, events, and international retreats.

The Fine Print

Deposits and Payments
All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE except as outlined below.
Cancellations
Cancellation of your reservation prior to September 1, 2026 will result in a credit to your Aluma account of any amounts paid (minus the $500 non-refundable deposit) which may be used for future purchases. No credits will be issued after this date except as described below.
Non-Completion Due to Injury
If you are unable to complete training for any reason except injury, there is no refund. If you sustain an injury that does not allow you to fully participate physically, you will not be permitted to continue training. A credit will be issued on your Aluma account for the full amount paid minus the $500 non-refundable deposit, to use toward future purchases (except travel/retreats). If you apply this toward the next teacher training, your original training price will be honored.
Materials
Aluma Yoga YTT Training Manual is included. Books are an additional fee and are available on Amazon. Our book list will be emailed upon acceptance to the program.
Trainers
Training is led by Jeannie Eshleman, Jackie Hershfeld and Melody Kleeman. Guest teachers may be announced.
