Stephanie comes to yoga from a place of self healing as she found her place on the mat over 15 years ago when looking to find movement after a shoulder surgery. Stephanie was a trained modern dancer looking not only to continue to move her body but strengthen her physical and mental being. Yoga was a natural fit. It provided the space to learn how to connect breath and movement into one, while gaining strength and increasing flexibility that was lost from not moving the way she was trained to for years. Yoga brought Stephanie to a place of self acceptance and helped with the process of being able to accept her body for what it was after her range of motion was limited from surgery. Stephanie brings a strong Vinyasa background with her as well as the ability to weave in a gentle Yin practice to her classes. Stephanie completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Baltimore with Katie Thorworth, and studied Yin Yoga with Jesse Kates, as well as having her Pilates mat certification she is able to combine this with her dance background to allow her to uniquely and competently guide students clearly and mindfully through a class. She continues her yoga education with Steven Bumbry learning Thai Yoga Massage, and Abbie Galvin in the method and theory of Katonah yoga for an additional 300 hours of training. In her free time she is a wife, and mom to two amazing girls, one dog, one cat, and a fish.
