Beth Hand

Beth was raised in Maryland, however, her multiple areas of study have led her to explore other places and people. She discovered yoga while studying to be a chiropractor as a way to care for herself both physically and mentally. After chiropractic school her life took another turn and she found herself being an educator for students with learning differences. Both of these major career choices have informed both her practice and teaching style. She was able to apply them during her 200 hour training which immediately led to her 300 hr training in 2020. Her need for community and connection led her to Aluma to teach in the studio. Beth has studied vinyasa, yin, restorative, yoga nidra, hatha, and trauma informed yoga.

Beth connects poses, and energetic meanings of those poses, with tangible anatomical connections. She presents information in a multitude of ways allowing the student to learn tools to explore their practice more deeply. She hopes to make yoga approachable for the practitioner as they explore themselves.

When she is not on the mat she is rock climbing, weight lifting, and trying to get outdoors as much as possible. She hopes to continue to study all 8 limbs of yoga as part of her personal practice and apply it off the mat. She lives with her husband and "kitten" who is 13 years old.
