Do you sometimes feel like you’re in a rut and need a big dose of inspiration? We’ve got you covered! This workshop will get all of your creative juices flowing and reignite your spark. A namaskar is defined as a deep and reverent spiritual greeting, and in yoga class the term refers to a repetitive flowing sequence (like Surya Namaskar) that serves as the main ingredient and jump off point for the class. It’s an honoring of something or someone, such as the Sun (in Surya Namaskar), though the medium of our body. Using Hindu Gods and Goddess stories as our jump off point, we’ll create unique Namaskars based on the deities. You’ll learn how to build upon these sequences to create artful and exciting classes. We’ll sprinkle in some fun hands-on assists, talk about how to build up to advanced asanas and try a few poses that you may have only seen in books! Open to all yoga teachers, wanna-be teachers, dedicated students and lovers of imaginative movement.
