Mel Freeman's yoga journey began by trying to keep his wife happy by attending an acro-yoga class with her. He enjoyed his initial yoga experience enough to return multiple times to that class and also agreed to travel with this wife to Belize for a yoga retreat, led by Aluma founder, Melody Clark. In preparation for the retreat, Mel began taking more yoga classes, and this is when he began to realize the amazing healing and transformation that accompanies a regular yoga practice. After returning from the retreat, he was hooked and began to consider becoming a yoga instructor himself. He became certified at the 200 hour level, uses his practice to manage the ups and downs of life, and wants to make yoga accessible to everyone. Mel currently teaches Aluma's Gentlemen's Yoga, a class that explores the practice of yoga in ways that suit the male mind and body.
