Lisa Shealey made the decision to become a yoga instructor in 2012 after practicing for several years. That year, she received her 200 hour certification and, subsequently, pursued her 300 hour certification in 2015. She believes that the purpose of yoga is to create a relationship between form and breath that ultimately awakens the formless part of the Self. Connecting to that formless essence is what keeps Lisa coming back to her mat every day. She is born and raised in Maryland, a wife, a mom to two girls, and is passionate about living well in your body and being free in your heart. In Lisa's vinyasa flow-based classes at Aluma, students can expect creative sequencing, hands on adjustments, and a relaxing Savasana with essential oils.
Lisa co-leads the Aluma Yoga Teacher Training program and is also a Life Coach.
In May 2019, Lisa became part-owner with Melody, Aluma's Founder. Together, they are expanding the healing, transformation, and connection of Aluma Yoga!
