“My purpose is to share this wonderful practice of yoga to inspire and empower others towards greater health and well-being.”
Heather Gentry, RYT-500, is a certified yoga and meditation teacher. Active in health/wellness for more than 20 years, she developed a love early on in her corporate career for yoga as a way to manage daily stress. This love led her to explore yoga at a deeper level. Heather received her 200-hour yoga certification in 2017 and later obtained her 300-hour certification in 2019, both through YogaWorks in New York City. The rest is history. After working her entire career in a corporate environment, Heather recently moved back to her hometown of Maryland to turn her passion into a full-time career. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Yoga Therapy at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, in which she will graduate in summer 2020.
Heather has a strong interest in anatomy, alignment principles, yoga philosophy, and breathing and mindfulness techniques. In the classroom, you will find her focused on clear instruction and alignment through creative sequencing that incorporates flow, balance strength, and grounding. She specializes in working one-on-one or in small group settings with individuals experiencing chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and other chronic conditions, utilizing therapeutic yoga techniques that aim to enhance the mind-body connection.
