THE FREE TO BREATHE YOGA CHALLENGE
June 30, 2018
Aluma Yoga is committed to raising $100,000.00 for this challenge.
The Lung Cancer Research Foundation's Free to Breathe Yoga Challenge is an event where teams fundraise to earn their spot in a five-hour yogathon, held in Baltimore on June 30. It honors those who have been diagnosed with lung cancer, while celebrating wellness initiatives and the connection between yoga and the breath. Most importantly, it raises critically needed funds for increasing lung cancer survival.
Aluma Yoga is thrilled to be one of five yoga studio sponsors for this year's Yoga Challenge, and we will be leading one of the five hours of yoga during the yogathon. Lung cancer is a disease that hits close to home for Aluma Yoga. Our co-owner, Stefanie O'Polka, was diagnosed with it in 2015 at the age of 45.
Each year more people die of lung cancer than colon, prostate, and breast cancers combined, and the five-year survival rate of those diagnosed with lung cancer is only 18%. Those are sobering statistics, and we're showing how serious we are about raising money for lung cancer research by setting a fundraising goal of $100,000.00. We need your support to reach this goal. You can make a direct donation, join Aluma Yoga’s team at the event on June 30, share the link to this page on your social media, and stay tuned for upcoming big announcements.
